![]() The dress reminded me a lot of a Brouni Shaman.Īrbalist: I think I like it better than the other male Arbalists, but still pretty shaky on this one. Took me a few minutes to figure out what this was. Could definitely see it on a Ninja/Zodiac who actually casts fire spells instead of being a TP-battery with Dark Ether. Hair specifically reminds of Alder from Pokemon Black/White. Ninja: Very different pose and style from the original ninjas. On the other hand, the sad reality is that fighter monks were pretty lacking, if I recall correctly. I personally found the male Monks quite lacking in gusto, which this guy has in droves. Monk: One of the standouts to me, honestly. Appreciate her using a sword where the other girls used maces. Gladiator: Doesn't she look a lot like Wiglaf? Wiglaf after working out her right arm exclusively. Crazy hair, wild expression, and actually a portrait that uses guns rather than being all about a foreshortened saber. All great, but lacking much to comment on.īuccaneer: Underboob is a bit out of control, but really love this design. Hexer / Troubadour / Zodiac: Simple, clean extensions on the base designs of these classes. Profoundly unhappy to be out here, but here nevertheless because the asshole ghosts that live in her urn won't leave her alone otherwise. Her expression really reminds me of what I wanted for fanart of a Brouni Necromancer. Come to think of it, didn't one of the scrapped Oni designs for V kinda have this same pose?ĭark Hunter: Strongly suspect she's gonna be popular in fanart. ![]() It's the classic Ronin, with bigger boobs and a pretty awkward stance. Ronin: Don't feel too strongly on this one. Saliva was already weird before, but I think monkey lick is still weirder still. I know I wouldn't personally want to be bitten by a gorilla, but admittedly those attacks make a bit less sense here than with the wolf, tiger, and bears. Felt the same way after seeing the Nexus recolours for Survivalist too, actually.īeast: Monkey. It's not a bad pose, it just lacks the freshness that most the others do. Survivalist: I feel this one's kinda lackluster, as it doesn't really do much to change the standard outfit. I think it could work, but the green tunic isn't working for me. The pose looks kinda painful too, honestly. I dunno, maybe that doesn't make sense to anybody else.Īlchemist: Kind of a mish-mash of a design, isn't it? Hat from the little girl Hero, leggings, gauntlets none of it really goes together. Which is great, but to me, knowing the MFMF pattern (and Prince/ss class in III will call you out for it) kind of spoils the potential of doing that for me. I know I've seen people run certain Medic and Landsknecht portraits from IV as female, and also the green Gunner in II. The fun thing about these as fifth portraits is that they don't belie them an innate gender. Gunner / Medic: These two are among my favourites, honestly. Alongside that one Fortress, what's it with having the tank looking evil? Kinda looks like the biggest asshole of the lot here, though. This dude, on the other hand, looks like he knows how to brawl. Honestly used one with the witch hat for a Zodiac, not a War Magus, in Nexus. I've never particularly liked the class, as they're physical offense-oriented, but the original portraits are really kinda idle and frail-looking. War Magus: Really, really dig this War Magus design. Honestly, I thought she was Arthur in the title card for the announcement, so I was a little confused at the direction it went, not being Untold at all. Landsknecht: I find it interesting that she's based off the EOIV Landsknecht, with the blue skirt and all. I wanted to write my quick thoughts about all the new portraits, ran out of steam, gave up, but then decided to half-ass it over the finish line several days later.
